June 2021 Newsletter
Thank you for remembering to send your children in with named hats on, also with suncream. We would prefer it if children do not wear open-toed sandals at nursery as they do trip more easily with them on, however if they are worn please could they also wear socks to prevent rubbing.
The children are doing really well at getting changed for PE, but please could you continue to give them time to practise getting dressed on their own occasionally at home.
Also look for any opportunities that you can to promote their independence, particularly with toileting, as this will make it so much easier for them to make the transition to school.
Unfortunately Canford Cliffs Library are not able to accommodate our usual summer term story-time this year.As an alternative we will be incorporating a story and snack into some of our walks in the chine. We know this is not the same, but we are sure the children will enjoy this never the less.
End of term party
Friday 16th July
11-00 to 1-00 – All children are welcome for our end of year party and lunch.
Lunch will be provided on this day.
Monday 19th July, 1-30 to 2-30pm
We have given much consideration to whether we might be able to make safe alternative arrangements for this event to enable all parents to attend. Unfortunately we do not feel that any of the alternatives are either Covid secure or safe in other ways. We have considered using the vicarage garden as an outdoor venue but it is not fully fenced and so not secure for the number of children involved. Other outdoor locations would need to be risk assessed to be covered by the nursery insurance and so this does not seem to be a viable alternative at this time.
We have also investigated live Zooming the event but we are simply not able to get good enough audio quality for you to enjoy.
If anybody would be willing to video the short presentation which will be followed by the children singing, a total of about 15 minutes, that would be amazing. We could then find a way of distributing this to parents afterwards.
We do understand that this is not the way that any of us would like to celebrate the end of our children’s time at nursery, but for now we feel this is the best solution we can offer.
Thursday 8th July – am – time to be confirmed.
We have arranged for Fraser Portraits to take a Leavers Photograph, we will confirm the time via Tapestry nearer to the day.
Last day of summer term Wednesday 21st July
First day of autumn term Tuesday 7th September
We thank you for your support and understanding during these times which continue to test us all.
With kind regards,
The All Saints Team
