Newsletter – October 2021

Dear parents,

We would like to warmly welcome all our new families to our All Saints Nursery community, and to welcome back families who have been with us for a while. We have been so impressed with how the children have settled into nursery life, particularly considering the limited experiences that many of them have had over the last 18 months.

We are continuing to take a cautious approach with our Covid systems of control. Whilst we will continue to minimise the amount of time that parents spend in the building please feel free to phone or email us about any concerns that you have, we will get back to you as soon as possible. We ask that  you continue to wear a mask if you  do need to come into the building, if your child is unsettled or if you urgently need to speak to a member of staff. We will be continuing to keep the building well ventilated during the winter so please send your child in with lots of layers of clothes on when the weather is cold.

This half term we have been thinking about the changes that occur in nature at this time of year. We have been learning about the  harvest that nature gives us, as well as the changes that we see in the trees, plants, animals, weather, food we eat and clothes we wear as the weather gets colder. We do this through all the different activities that happen in our nursery day – singing at circle-time, story time, craft, roleplay, playdough, small world play, in the garden and on nature walks. All of these are learning opportunities that promote your child’s development. As you are out and about with your child talk to them about everything you see around you, fill them with awe and wonder about the wonderful world we live in! Maybe visit the library and get some books on the changes that Autumn brings to enhance their vocabulary and understanding- a love of books and learning at this stage will set your child up for life with a thirst for knowledge. It all starts now !

Frazer Portraits – Tuesday 30th November

We have arranged to have the children’s photograph’s taken and the prints will be returned before we break for Christmas. These make great Christmas presents if you are stuck for ideas !

Tapestry – Observations and Memo’s.

We find that Tapestry works very well to communicate  what your child has been learning about in nursery, but we do also sometimes use it to send memos home about more general information. To receive notifications of memos please ensure that your notifications setting is on ALL on your App.

Any problems please ask.

Please remember to clearly name your child’s water bottle and lunch box, as well as coats and hats etc.

With many thanks for all your support,

The All Saints Team
