CL – Sing a large repertoire of songs (SL-2024) : Literacy – Join in with songs & rhymes, say some of the words, follow the actions (SL-2025)
Dear parents,
Please see attached our planning for the next two weeks.
Our main focus continues to be the festive season which we will incorporate into all areas of our curriculum, with an emphasis on Communication and Language, and Literacy. Communication and Language covers “singing a large repertoire of songs” for our older children and “join in with songs & rhymes, say some of the words, and follow the actions” for our younger children. The children are certainly getting lots of opportunities to practice these skills at the moment. We are constantly developing the children’s literacy skills but in particular at Christmas we will be busy writing our names on cards and envelopes, writing gift tags and even wrapping presents is excellent practice for fine motor skills. You will have received the words and actions for our Christmas songs on Tapestry earlier in the week, we hope you enjoy singing them at home with your child and we look forward to welcoming you to our Nativity Play on Monday 11th December.
Please note our main opening time is 9am. If you wish to drop your child earlier we are happy to book your child in for either 8am or 8-30am to accommodate your needs.
