Dear parents
Please find attached our planning for the next 2 weeks. Our main focus will be looking at growth and change. This half term we have been planting seeds to take home and have been encouraging the children to report back on their growth. Next half term we will have some caterpillars and we will be watching them go through their life cycle to become butterflies. Maybe you could support your child’s learning by talking to them about new life in the world around them and even get some books from the library to support this topic.
For our older children who are moving onto school later this year we will be continuing to focus on their independence skills, especially with dressing and undressing ready for PE. If you have not already brought in a PE kit, please could you do so in the next few days.
We will also be encouraging our school leavers in all aspects of early mark making. This might be chalk on a blackboard, writing letters with a stick in the sand or using water with a big paint brush on the wall. I t is all good practice and builds children’s confidence to have a go, especially for those who might be reluctant to put pen or pencil to paper.
Suncream and Hats
As the sun is finally starting to show itself, please ensure that children arrive at nursery with suncream already applied and to bring a named hat with them. Our garden is quite shady but we do try to spend as much time as possible outside.
Diary Dates
Fraser Portraits – School Leavers photo – Thursday 6th July at 9am
We will have a Leavers Photograph of all the School Leavers taken as a memento of the children’s time in nursery. If your child is not normally in on this day please bring them in at 9am ready for the group shot to be taken. If your child is usually in on this day please ensure all school leavers are in promptly at 9am on this day.
Leavers Presentation and End of Year Fashion Show – Friday 14th July at 11am followed by refreshments.
All children will be taking part in our End of Year Fashion Show. The children will be designing their own t-shirts over the coming weeks which they will wear at the Fashion Show. Please could they also decorate a hat at home, something fun and sunny would be suitable, to wear on the day.
